基本理論
本文認為傳統的標準單根檢定會有偏誤，因為接受或拒絕定態(stationarity)的虛無假設都是受樣本期間選取而有所不同，這樣很主觀，甚至研究者會因單根檢定的結果不如預期，因而選取其它樣本期間，以符合研究者的預期。因此本文將會呈現出所有可能非定態(non-stationarity)的型式(非標準或一致的型態)。

研究方法與邏輯
樣本期間的選取會反應在參數配適時，參數呈現非定態，進而影響到檢定統計量，為了可以研究參數非定態的情況，因此本文創造出新的時間序列(t-stat)。首先WPI指數、CPI指數分別求出各自的實質匯率，實質匯率再進行配適AR模型，找出最適落後期數，以建立模型(ex： )。再者，先利用前20到25筆求出期初實質匯率值 ，然後每增加一筆資料(即t增加1年)，求出 以及觀察每增加一筆資料時，t-stat的變化以及是否顯著。

需要的統計數據
資料為各國(包含台灣)的匯率資料(兌美元)，以及躉售物價指數(wholesale price indices，以下通稱WPI指數)和消費者物價指數(consumer price indices，以下通稱 CPI指數)。

主要實證結果
本文認為以前文章使用固定且同質變異的自我迴歸模型(the fixed-parameter autoregressive homoscedastic models)，並不適用於在PPP理論裡實質匯率(real exchange rate)的非穩定性的型態(type of non-stationarity)。

困難處或遭遇之問題
1. 初選paper時以研究方法、檢定方法及統計數據做為選paper之依據，然而詳加閱讀瞭解全文之後，發現此篇文章為對於傳統檢定方法做質疑之批判性文章，然而初學計量及檢定方法，對於傳統檢定方法尚不熟悉之情況，需求助學長同學等，才得以真正進一步了解文意。
2. 初次閱讀原文paper比預期困難，即便將生字查完，仍對於作者所描述之內容有許多困惑之處，對於文意常有需要以揣測取代理解的情況，日後要多加練習。
3. 本篇文章已有台灣的資料，期末預計以此篇所39個國家資料做資料更新之實證(本篇資料迄於1998)

The decision will be based on a first-come-first-serve rule. That is, the one who posts the summary page of a paper gets the first priority to follow that paper posted with a tag named"selected" paper .
